• How should Cley look in the future? Drop in Friday 9th October 2026

How should Cley look in the future?

You are invited to Cley Village Hall

    Friday 9th October 2026, 3-5 pm & 6-8 pm

Do come along and have your say!

The Parish Council are preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for the village. This will set out policies to manage development in the village over the next decade or so and would supplement the North Norfolk District Council Local Plan.

Before we get too far in the process, we are keen to hear what you think about our village and how it should develop.

We hope you can spare us about half an hour of your time, on Friday 9th October, 3-5pm or 6-8pm, to let us know your views and any good ideas – young people are especially welcome.

We are keen to hear your views on issues such as:

What you like and dislike about the Village and how you think we could improve it

Possibilities for new housing in the Village

    Parking issues

Anything you think is important for our Village

Later on, after the 9th, we will publish – on https://www.cleyparishcouncil.gov.uk/ – some of the display material that will be available at the event with a questionnaire for those who can’t attend in person but still would like to contribute.

After this consultation event we hope to:

Publish a Draft Plan (after considering all the suggestions made in October). You will be able to comment on the draft when it is written – this will be in the first half of 2027

Then hold an ‘Independent Examination’ of the Draft – which may lead to the Plan being revised in response to people’s further comments.

Finally, a Referendum of residents will be held before the Plan can be adopted

If the plan is then finally adopted it then will be an important document for all decisions made by North Norfolk District Council (and any successor Council) on planning applications in the village.

If you have any queries about the event or neighbourhood planning, please contact the Cley Parish Clerk via: clerk@cleyparishcouncil.gov.uk.

THIS IS YOUR FIRST OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE YOUR SAY – MAKE THE MOST OF IT!

  • Electric Vehicle Charging in Cley – your views

Cley Parish Council seeks your views on electric vehicle (EV) charging in the village. This survey will take about 3 minutes.

The proposal: Two charging posts, each with two sockets, meaning up to four vehicles could charge at once. Village Hall car park, no capital cost to the parish through NCC Plug In Norfolk. Two to three hours plugged in typically adds 50 to 75 miles on a mid-range EV. The facility will be designed to allow future upgrading.

Please help us keep admin to a minimum by answering online where you can. It only takes 3 minutes.

    Complete the survey online: tinyurl.com/cleyevsurvey
