Stiffkey NTRO11070 PT

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO11070) affecting the A149 Church Street / Morston Road / Morston Chase / Stiffkey Road from its junction with C315 Bridge Street to its junction with A149 The Street (the “Road”) in the Parish of Stiffkey to facilitate surface dressing, lining and stud works, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 21st April to 23rd May 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 23rd November 2026 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

The anticipated phases for this closure are:

  • Phase 1 – between 19:00 and 05:00 from 21st to 25th April 2026 (two days within the anticipated dates).
  • Phase 2 – between 09:00 and 16:00 from 5th to 7th May 2026.
  • Phase 3 – between 19:00 and 05:00 from 18th to 23rd May 2026.

Alternative route is via: A149 Wells Road, Coast Road, Stiffkey Road, Warham Road, Church Street, Burnt Street, B1105 Fakenham Road, Barsham Road, A148 Fakenham Bypass, Holt Road, Letheringsett Hill, Norwich Road, Holt Bypass, Cromer Road, A1082 Holway Road, A149 Weybourne Road, Sheringham Road, The Street, Kelling Road, Salthouse Road, High Street, New Road, Cley Road, Morston Road, Blakeney Road (Sheringham, Gunthorpe, High Kelling, Wiveton, Kelling, Holkham, Wells-Next-the-Sea, Letheringsett with Glandford, Fakenham, Morston, Wighton, Little Snoring, Blakeney, Thornage, Upper Sheringham, Brinton, Warham, Kettlestone, Barsham, Stiffkey, West Beckham, Bodham, Holt, Walsingham, Thursford, Sculthorpe, Weybourne, Salthouse, Cley Next the Sea).

The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Norfolk County Council.

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 23rd November 2026 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
